I've tried with with a nameplate add-on and without one. My guildies seem to be able to get it to work, and I can't imagine why it wouldn't work for me. WebOh well. From the bottom line perspective, increasing the nameplate view distance makes PvE less exhausting in game that is already a bit of a grind. Less exhausting means less player burnout, which means fewer unsubs. Also, i'm on a PvP server.
