How to shim a shotgun stock

The change is so slight that the angle of the stock bolt won't be a problem, this I know. Anybody have any suggestions on how best to shim an 870 stock or know any gunsmiths or basement ... Member "Remington 1100") and noticed the factory shims to adjust the comb height are a T- 42.5 mm DX (cast off/right hand) and also a T-45mm DX (currently installed on the gun) I would like to go a little lower if possible.
